My heartfelt greetings to all my esteemed members .
I am delighted to share that the Institution of Engineers (India) Tamilnadu State Centre celebrated the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development on the theme “Unleashing the Power of Engineers to Advance the Sustainable Development Goals” on 8th March 2025 at IE(I) TNSC Auditorium, Chennai. The event was graced with Mr. C. Valliappa, Chairman, Sona Institutions, Salem as Guest of Honour and Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu as Chief Guest. He touched upon sustainability challenges in urban planning, energy infrastructure, and climate adaptation — particularly for states like Tamil Nadu, which face volatile weather patterns and stressed the importance of integrating sustainability in all aspects of infrastructure development.
World Water Day on the theme “Glacier Preservation” was celebrated jointly with IE(I) Hosur Local Centre on 15th March 2025 at Hosur. Er P. Natarajan, Engineering Director , TWAD Board, Chennai was the chief guest and delivered on the theme.
It is a great pride that the Institution of Engineers (India), Tamil Nadu State Centre, hosted a felicitation program on March 17, 2025, at 6:00 pm, honoring Dr. V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman, ISRO. Dr. Narayanan delivered an enlightening address on 'Space Growth and Development by ISRO.' The session was incredibly enlightening. As Chairman of IE(I), TNSC, I express my profound appreciation for his gracious presence and the invaluable insights he provided.
The Institution of Engineers (India) Tamilnadu State Centre organized All India Seminar on the theme "Design and development of public fast charging infrastructure for electric and hybrid Electric vehicles" in association with Centre for E-Vehicles Technologies (CEVT), Anna University on 28 & 29 March 2025 at IE(I) TNSC Auditorium, Chennai. Mr Kannappan Chettiar, Founder, Switching Battery Inc. was the Chief Guest. Mr Kaushik Palicha, Managing Director, Entity 2 Energy Storage Pvt. Ltd., was the Guest of Honour. I also appreciate the efforts of the organizing and technical committees, as well as the participants, for their enthusiastic involvement.
It gives me great pleasure to announce the inauguration of the St. Joseph's Institute of Technology's Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Students' Chapter on March 8, 2025.
