I am delighted to meet you all once again through this News Bulletin. I am pleased to share that The Institution of Engineers (India) Tamilnadu State Centre celebrated World Water Day on the theme "Water for Peace" jointly with Tiruvallur Local Centre, Kanchepuram Local Centre, Salem Local Centre, and Kattankulathur Local Centre on 23rd March 2024 (Saturday), 4.00 pm at IE(I) TNSC Auditorium, Chennai. Dr.P.Rajasekhar, Environmental Adviser & Founder Chairman of Sustainable Enviro Promoters, Chennai was the Chief Guest and delivered a wonderful address about water to the audience.
World Water Day Celebrations 2024
A Water Summit competition was organized for engineering students and school students. Paper Presentationand Poster Presentation competitions were conducted for engineering studentscommunity. An Exhibition of Model and Poster Presentations were conducted exclusively for school students. The winning students were awarded certificates and cash prizes.
Golden Jubilee Celebrations of IE(I), TLC
The Golden Jubilee of IE(I), Tiruchirappalli Local Centre, was celebrated on 28th April 2024 in a befitting manner. Dr.G.Ranganath, President of IE(I), served as the Chief Guest and delivered a scintillating valedictory address. I, Dr.V.Karthikeyan, Chairman, IE(I), TNSC, Dr.S.Dharmalingam, Chairman of CCC, Dr.J.Arivudai Nambi, Council Member, IEI and Er.K.N.Sivaraju, Immd. Past Hon. Secretary participated in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and enjoyed the memorable event.
I appreciate Dr.S.Ravimaran, Chairman, Er.S.P.Lakshmanan, Honorary Secretary, Dr.Kevin Ark Kumar, Coordinator and the team of IE(I), TLC, for their remarkable contributions in conducting the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and releasing the souvenir. Also, I appreciate all the former Chairmen, Honorary Secretaries, Council and Committee members, and all the fellow engineers who, over the course of the Golden Jubilee, have guided and contributed to its multifaceted growth.
In addition, Madurai Local Centre honoured Dr.G.Ranganath, President of IE(I), during the Special Meeting conducted on 28.04.2024.
Our technical lecture programs will be conducted in both online and offline modes. The details of these programs will be communicated to all the members through email and social media. I request all our members to actively participate in meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc.
I extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone for being part of this Institution and I am confident that our great Institution will continue to reach newer heights in the years ahead.
The lease on a property owned by IE(I), TNSC has expired, and numerous efforts have been made to renew it for an additional 30 years. Meanwhile, the committee has resolved to purchase own land or a building of approximately 5000 sq.ft for IE(I), TNSC. In this regard, I request all the Council and Committee Members, Former Chairmen and Former Hon. Secretaries to extend your fullest support for this noble cause.
